About TRESOR contemporary craft
We are designing and developing a new, unique fair for high-quality applied arts: TRESOR contemporary craft with international exhibitors starts in September 2017 in Basel, a city renowned for its fairs.
We identify trends and innovations in 21st century craft using materials such as wood, fibre, glass, ceramics, metal, and new materials pushing the boundaries between art, craft, design and architecture. We seek out craft movements that are reviving or reinventing traditional techniques and design processes with the help of new technologies. We show the collectibles of the future.
We tell the stories behind the objects and bring them to life by focusing on the makers and their work. Our aim is to foster a new appreciation and understanding for what craft is today and safeguard it for the future.
We look for highly talented young craft specialists, offer them their first sales platform and support them in marketing their work professionally. The best newcomer project is presented with the TRESOR Discovery Award.
We seek to establish a style-conscious community in the area of contemporary craft with a focus on mutual exchange and expanding networks.
